YEAR: CONTEXT: NOTE:

Spring 2006

In Japan, RFID tags are as common as barcodes.
People pay their transport, goods and services by just sweeping the phone near a transponder or tiny tags embedded on various items.

RFID Art Server examines the concept of sharing the moments of gallery visits with friends. Paying for, and transmitting a time-limited reproduction of graphical works via the net.
The art piece presents it self on flatscreen-frames in the receivers home.

A functional service was tried out with visitors and their friends on a art exhibition.

"Radio-frequency identification (RFID) is an automatic identification method, relying on storing and remotely retrieving data using devices called RFID tags or transponders. An RFID tag is an object that can be attached to or incorporated into a product, animal, or person"
