Entity | Materials and design references

the following is references on material usage, and popular design regarding entity

Materials and design
Furs and skinlike synthetic materials are a common material, new is the usage of translucent plastics.
Translucent
An early example of this is the translates body of the alien in the film E.T. As a way to amplify its lifeness, he has a redgloving light in his chest. A never design is the translucent bodies of the robots in th film I.Robot. Also the the toyrobots like idog and Nabaztag uses this feature. The Apple laptops uses translucent material in front of the sleeplight, the entity effect used.

White shells, black joints
It seem that the stormtroopers in Star Wars (1978) marked a design shift for robot design (although they are humans not robots..)
Many robot designs in films and real use this color-scheme. With The Hitchhikers Guide Marvin as the only one using champagne white…

"A Furby is an electronic toy made by Tiger Electronics which went through a brief period of being a "must-have" toy following its launch in the holiday season of 1998. The main reason that many people liked them was their apparent "intelligence" and learning ability as they developed their language skills. It was thought, falsely, that they repeated words said around them (the actual function was the ability to have the furby say certain pre-programmed words or phrases more often by petting it whenever it said these words)"

Abstract
The more abstract or simple the shape of entity is, the more we are able to project a great entity into it. There is few clues and recognizable aspects that limits our impression of its capabilities. Also se the HAL-9000 reference

"A Hooloovoo is a superintelligent shade of the color blue." Little is known of them, except that one participated in the construction of the starship Heart of Gold. At the launching ceremony it was temporarily refracted into a free-standing prism. This is probably analogous to the multicolored lab coats worn by the rest of the team."
